| Just got back from the United States ... | 19-6-2003 | |
Hello again, I just came back from my IT Training workshop at the United States Washingon D.C. The workshop was so advanced and professional and I managed to make the IT managment in the American govermental agancy that I work with really impressed with my techincal and presentational skills
Washington D.C is one of the most wonderful cities I have ever seen, the architecture is marvelous, it's a mix of Greek, French and Roman architecture, it's an organized international city.
Back to the workshop, we had an extensive 8 hours a day hands on training on the governmental computer setups, I was assigned as the Point of Contact -for the agency that I work with-for the EMA region -Europe and Mediterranean- which includes 14 countries.
IT Security was one of the hottest issues for me -as an IT Security Coordinator-; best practices, in depth training was conducted to deal with such world wide rising threat to IT safety.

First of all I’m glad to tell you that I have been hired by an American governmental agency here in Jordan … it has the most wonderful staff I’ve ever met :) …
I would like to thank the guys who interviewed me, and my boss and my lovely sweet manager :). I hopefully will do my very best to show the agency that hired me that I’m trustworthy and that they’ll never regret having me in …
Again, I would like to thank Almighty God, and everybody that helped me get this wonderful job, and for my family and friends whom have helped me be the person that I’m now.

Hi everybody,
I suppose u already know that NeHe have posted a new contest, about Halloween, so how about we participate ...
I want you guys to think of an idea for the demo -which if posted for the contest would be seen by hundereds-.
Think of something that can be done with the engine we currenlty have, i'm thinking of something interactive, maybe a small plot and an adventure like story ... we can make something nice guys, and this will help us promote ourselvs -as i mentioned earlier- ...
Have fun and send me replies quickly, if not to the forum then to my email: rani_hasan@hotmail.com, if you don't act fast we'll not able to do things in time ...
See ya, looking forward to read your replies and your ideas for the demo -interactive or movie like- ... |

I have a few ideas which we need to agree on before moving into implementing our game, please if you have comments or suggestions don't hesitate on posting them, after all we need to agree on something and then work it out ...
i'm gonna list my ideas now, i'll number them so that they can be easily refered to incase of comments or suggestions, here goes:
1. We need to scale down much of the internet and mulitplayer integration, first because it's hard, not extremely fun, needs high bandwidth, have lots of problems and needs lots of troubleshooting.
2. We need to scale down much of what is written in the design document, in order to be able to achieve it, one example of what -in my opinion- can't be done is this part "This game is an attempt to achieve what has not been achieved yet to date, a game to the scale of earth itself, always dynamically changing and growing as a real living planet should."
We need to have a much more defined and clearer idea, it's really hard to simulate life itself, and to some limit it's impossiable, so why bother doing something that gamers really don't care for ...
3. We have to define the aspects of life we are into simulating and programming, for example:
- Resources (Food, Wood, Metal, Oil)
- Enviroment (Snow, Rain, Cold, Hot, etc)
- Structures (Supply Centers, Homes, Banks, etc)
- Humans (Farmers, Builders, Theifs, etc)
- etc ...
As for me i think that without doing such detailed design we'll not be able to achieve anything.
4. We then shall be working in same time on both the Simulator and the Graphics Engine, a group of programmers shall be working on the Simulator itself where everything is calculted, the place where decision are being made, the place where everything is happening, and a group of programmers and modelers shall be working on a solid graphics engine which have the ability to represent the state of the world based on the aspects we agreed on haveing, for example, if we decided to integrate the weather system (Rain, Snow, Sunny, etc) then the graphics engine programmers have to make a good particle engine system which along with multi-texturing can be used to represnt snow, for example if we decided to have the racing aspect, then the Simulator Programmers shall design a vehicle physics engine, and the Graphics engine programmers have to implement a car model loading and rendering routine which includes (suspension, dynamic texturing, dynamic model geometry altering -to represent damage-) ...
What i'm saying is that we shall start on implementing, but only after we define everything we want and everything we need in details.
5. I believe we first need a version that has NO multiplayer intergration at all; we shall implement our system with NO user interaction, and then once we have a working world, with all the aspects we agreed on, a world that is completely controled by the computer, once we have that we can easily take the control away from the computer for any given character of this world, and make it's descions based on the player rather than the computer ... and pingo ... that's it ...
sorry but i got to go, i'll be posting more based on your feedback.
